| 4/3/02  Another year , another chance to grow my own . Last years
crop , was for all practical purposes , a failure . This year I've kicked
the cats outside , and placed the tobacco in a sunnier location . I have a
suspicion last years crop where due to bad seeds. See last years results
here .   The seeds this year were purchased at
      SEEDMAN.COM . TA16
      burley , TN90 Tennessee burley , & VA 509 hybrid  where chosen . I
managed to get them sprouting in about a week with a cheap green house ,
and seedling starter kit purchased at Wal-Mart .   The tobacco seeds where placed on top of the soil , as tobacco
requires photosynthesis to germinate . I used a fine mist spray to keep
the seeds moist , spaying them twice daily .In addition to the natural
sunlight ,a 22 watt fluorescent growing light is being kept on them 24/7 .
